Quantitative Data: The Corporación Técnica Profesional Caminos del Suroccidente Colombiano – CORPOCAMINOS, constituted by 11 grassroots peasant organizations from the Macizo, Center, and South of the department of Cauca, the Southern Cauca Cooperative COSURCA, and the exporter of the Southern Cauca Cooperative EXPOCOSURCA; recognized by the National Ministry of Education through Resolution 011222 of October 25, 2019, and SNIES code 9937, offers the professional technical program in Operation of Sustainable Tourism Services with qualified registration granted through Resolution 016190 of July 30, 2025. This program seeks to train well-rounded professionals through relevant education for performance in tourism activities with a sustainable, harmonious focus and the pursuit of knowledge about natural and cultural heritage for the development of the region. Additionally, CORPOCAMINOS conducts diplomas, short courses, workshops, and other extension events on topics related to the academic program. In 2019, it conducted the diploma “Tourism in Peasant Territories” and in 2022 the diploma “Tourist Attractions and Sustainable Territories,” as well as the short courses “Basic Barista Skills and Tourism Experiences with Coffee,” “Ancestral and Signature Mixology,” “Culinary Heritage of the Macizo Caucano,” and “Coffee Tasting.”
Services Offered: CORPOCAMINOS, being a Higher Education Institution, does not offer tourism services. However, it offers the Professional Technical program in Operation of Sustainable Tourism Services with qualified registration granted through Resolution 016190, through which it provides training opportunities in sustainable tourism operation, especially to rural communities in the Macizo, Center, and South of the department of Cauca. It promotes in rural communities the identification of sustainable tourism services based on local knowledge, trades, sustainable farms, and natural resources to foster local initiatives that form tourist attractions and products.
