FECD

Fondo Ecuatoriano de Cooperación para el Desarrollo.

Areas of Work: The Ecuadorian Fund for Development Cooperation (Fondo Ecuatoriano de Cooperación para el Desarrollo) is a non-profit organization established in 2005, whose objective is to sustainably improve the living conditions of the most vulnerable and least-opportunitized groups in Ecuador. To achieve this, it implements comprehensive proposals to strengthen local capacities, generating concrete results in areas such as the economic-productive, social-human, and environmental-territorial dimensions.

Quantitative Data:

Over the years, the FECD’s experience has allowed it to generate impacts at the national, micro-regional, and economic corridor levels, through articulation with local actors from the public, community, and private sectors, academia, NGOs, and self-management. Furthermore, its transversal policies focus on gender equality, generational equity, and interculturality. It has worked in 16 provinces of Ecuador with small-scale agro-productive groups, with around $80,000$ direct beneficiaries in these $20$ years of project implementation.

Services Offered:

The FECD is strengthening the “Chakra, Chocolate, and Tourism Route” in the Napo province in the areas of digital divide reduction, national and international promotion, brand positioning, governance and leadership, and diversification of the Amazonian chakra (traditional farm/garden). This route involves $60$ tourism and agro-productive ventures from Amazonian Kichwa, national, and foreign associations, with around $1,500$ families as direct beneficiaries.
